About us

Acer Makerspace is an educational centre that offers enrichment and project-based learning opportunities for children aged 4-14.

Our mission is to assist children in cultivating their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork skills so that they can thrive in the 21st-century economy.

We strongly believe that all children have the potential to be innovative and imaginative, and we have seen the positive impact that our programs can have on their abilities to collaborate, solve problems, and think creatively.

Through participation in our programs, children become more self-assured, creative, and better prepared to tackle obstacles. Additionally, they learn how to be effective team members and collaborators, which are crucial abilities for future success.

We are dedicated to helping children acquire the skills they need to face whatever challenges the future may bring.

Our Approach

We prioritize creativity, play, and collaboration in our approach to education and enrichment. We firmly believe that creativity can be developed and nurtured at any age. Our programs and activities follow a phenomenon-based learning methodology, using the Lifelong Kindergarten approach developed at MIT and the Creative Learning Spiral framework. These four core practices guide our approach :

  • Projects: Children work on projects that are meaningful to them, and that challenge them to think creatively.
  • Passion: Children are encouraged to follow their passions and pursue projects they are interested in.
  • Peers: Children work together on projects, which helps them to learn from each other and to develop their collaboration skills.

Play: Children are encouraged to experiment and take risks, which helps them to develop their creativity.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Curiosity is at the heart of our approach

Our programs are centered around three simple yet powerful ideas; helping children become independent, naturally growing relationships with parents, and developing a place of happiness inside the child.

CAN I ATTEND A SCHOOL TOUR?

Yes. We encourage families to meet with a member of the School leadership team and take a school tour to get comfortable with the program and school of their choice.

IS THERE A WAITLIST FEE?

Start by talking to them about the things they do and don’t enjoy, why that is, and what they see as their strengths and weaknesses. Then, pick two or three goals to focus on, helping your child set a timeline and break their goals down into smaller, manageable tasks.

HOW IS TUITION CHARGED?

Encourage family involvement in the classroom. Make families important in your class – show them you value their time by explaining the best way they can help as a classroom volunteer. Invite parents to share their expertise, skills and experience with the class.

ABOUT ME

My name is Audrey

I am truly passionate about education and its future.

Audrey entered the field of education in 2004. She began her career in Europe working at a Montessori school, teaching Drama and Gymnastic to Preschool and Elementary students. Audrey studied Early Childhood Education in England and Business Administration and Management in the U.S. She spent several years working with troubled teens and studying the powerful impact of the first seven years of children’s lives, which ultimately shaped her career path. She determined the importance of building a strong foundation to support children to mature into autonomous, respectful human beings full of curiosity and a love for learning so they can develop to their fullest potential. With this in mind she was inspired to open Bambino Seattle in 2017 and soon after founded Living Montessori.
